The Geneva Motor Show which is formally known as the Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) has been cancelled! The spread of the Corona 19 virus is responsible for this. To avoid the outburst of the virus, the Swiss government has banned the gathering of more than 1,000 people at a single place. The ban comes as journalists from all over the world had decided to travel to Geneva to experience the great motor show.

All the governments are repeatedly trying to safeguard their nations from the spread of the coronavirus strain. This virus is known as COVID-19 and was initially discovered in Wuhan, China. Though many cases have been diagnosed in the United States, other Asian countries, and Europe, including Switzerland. The latest news is about the grand auto show- the Geneva Motor Show being cancelled.
Though this event is the biggest event in the automotive calendar of the world, organisers have decided to cancel the Geneva Motor Show to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in their country. Many automakers skipped the Indian Auto Expo this time. Same was the case with the Geneva Motor Show. Many automakers had decided or were on the verge of deciding to skip the show.

This was being done to keep the executives of the respective brands away from the Geneva Palexpo conference centre. For now, the Geneva Motor Show has officially been cancelled. There will be delays in the launches which were planned to happen. Some of the launches will be done digitally though!

FYI, no vaccine for the coronavirus has been discovered yet. Therefore it is a really safe decision by the authorities to cancel the Geneva Motor Show. In a statement, Geneva show organizers said, “We regret this situation, but the health of all participants is our and our exhibitors’ top priority. This is a case of force majeure and a tremendous loss for the manufacturers who have invested massively in their presence in Geneva. However, we are convinced that they will understand this decision.”
