2020 Honda City to Get India-Specific Features | Specifications & Price

The Honda City is back again. Honda’s flagship sedan, the City is coming up in 2020 with a slew of upgrades. After launching the teaser recently, the car is finally going to make its way to India in April this year.

The Honda City was recently launched in Thailand. The fifth-generation model had two packages- the standard and the RS version. However, when it comes to the India-spec Honda City, there is a list of new features that the car is going to have. The upcoming City 2020 is 113mm longer and 53 mm wider than the older car.

Honda will surely make the India-bound models BS6 compliant.

Changes in India-bound Car | Honda City 2020

The interiors are going to experience revamp. The India-bound Honda City 2020 will get more of aluminium and piano-black bits on the front console and the dashboard. Interiors are most probably going to be dual-tone and the seats are going to don a lighter shade.

Apart from the interiors, the India-bound Honda City ZX will come with a sunroof, 16-inch alloy wheels, and full-LED headlamps.

The India-bound Honda City will get a different engine line-up. The Honda City 2020 coming to India will receive a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine which will be mated with mild-hybrid technology. The same engine is equipped in the all-new Jazz.

2020 Honda City | Specifications

The engine in the upcoming Honda City will churn out 117 bhp and churn out of torque of 145 Nm. Both the engines will be available with a manual as well as an automatic CVT transmission.

The prices of Honda City 2020 are expected to see an increase. While the current variants of the Honda City are priced around ₹9.91 lakhs to ₹14.31 lakhs, the newer ones will see an increase of approximately ₹1 lakh.

When launched, the car will compete against the heavily competitive C-segment sedan segment. The segment has the likes of the popular Maruti Ciaz and the heavily updated Hyundai Verna. The sedan segment only gets better after this.
