Hyundai Verna 2020 | Brand New Honda City/Maruti Ciaz Rival

The Korean carmaker, Hyundai, has revealed the upcoming facelift of its premium sedan, Verna. It is going to launch in the market on 26th March 2020. What should you expect from the upgrade? Have a look at what the C-segment sedan has got.

Hyundai Verna 2020 | Engine Specifications

The sedan will be getting 3 engine options:

  • 1.0-litre turbocharged GDi petrol engine which will churn out 98.63hp of power and 172Nm of peak torque.
  • 1.5-litre diesel engine with a power output of 113.4hp of power and 250Nm of torque.
  • A 1.5-litre petrol engine option.

Hyundai Verna 2020 will have a variety of transmission options, 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, 7-speed DCT and a CVT option.

It is important to note that all the engine options will adhere to the BS6 emission norms which will come into play from the 1st of April.

The facelift has got a major revamp session when the exterior is in talks. The 2020 version of the sedan has got a spectacular and bolder front grille with the Hyundai badging at the centre. The headlamps have got sleeker now and are adorned by C-shaped LED DRLs and redesigned turn indicators.

At the rear part, the stance gets bolder although the reflections of the current version can be seen clearly. For the interior, you can expect the Verna facelift to get a good-sized infotainment touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

Price and Rivals

The Hyundai Verna 2020 will have to race against Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid and Toyota Yaris. Verna is a little late to get an upgrade. It will be interesting to see whether the Hyundai sedan gets a hold in the Indian market. As for the price, you can expect the tag to read ₹15lakhs for the base variant.
