It was very recent when Skoda India had temporarily held the bookings for the 2020 Skoda Rapid Rider due to its high demand and now within days, Skoda has added another variant to its Rapid series, the 2020 Rapid Rider Plus with prices starting from Rs 7.99 lakh only! (ex-showroom, India). This makes Rapid Rider PLUS the most value-for-money sedan in its category.
The slightly upgraded Skoda Rapid Plus has, as of now, replaced the 2020 Rapid Rider until the booking commences again and is placed below the mid-spec variant the 2020 Skoda Rapid Ambition. The Rapid PLUS comes equipped with a couple of new additional feature over the previous base variant.

Any changes on the Engine front?
- The 2020 Rapid Rider comes equipped with the same 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine capable of producing 109hp with 175Nm of peak torque.
- The engine comes mated to the same 6-speed manual gearbox and holds a company claimed fuel efficiency of 18.97kmpl, under standard test conditions.

So, what’s new with the Skoda Rapid Rider PLUS?
- On the outside, it gets some minor cosmetic tweaks including new body calls on either side.
- Skoda has also added two new colour options- Brilliant Silver and Toffee Brown with its existing Carbon Steel and Candy white options.
- On the inside, it gets a brand new 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, scuff plates, automatic climate control, power windows, 12V power socket, remote locking, electrically adjustable ORVMs and power windows.
- The safety package on the 2020 Skoda Rapid Rider Plus includes dual-airbags, ABS with EBD rear parking sensors, rough road package, anti-glare interior rearview mirror, rear windscreen defogger with timer, height-adjustable three-point seat belts at the front and engine immobiliser with a floating code system.

And what’s missing (feature-wise)?
- Although being one step above the Rapid Rider, the Rapid Rider Plus still misses out on some of the features.
- These features include leather upholstery, projector headlamps and a multifunctional steering wheel which can be made available by going with the Ambition variant which costs 2 lakh more than the Rider Plus.
