Czech automobile manufacturer Škoda has finally revealed that they will be launching the all-new 2020 Škoda Rapid in the month of April 2020. The was confirmed by Škoda’s Zac Hollis, Director – Sales, Service & Marketing, Skoda Auto India in a tweet.
2020 Škoda Rapid could come with a starting price of Rs 9-11 Lakhs and upon its spawn, the BS6 compliant 2020 Škoda Rapid will rival the all-new 2020 Honda city, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in the C-segment category.
- Under the hood, The 2020 Škoda Rapid will feature an all-new 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine delivering the power to 103hp/153Nm and will be paired to a 5-6 speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox compliant to the BS6 emission norms.

- Rumours also suggest that the Rapid will also lose its current engine line-up in the updated Škoda Rapid.
- However, the company has already made it clear that the 1.5-litre diesel engine which is being shared with Škoda’s parent company Volkswagen has been tweaked to roll-in with the new and more stringent BS6 emission norms.
- The all-new 1.0-litre engine on Rapid is said to be a part of the company’s EA211 series and is offered in a two-part series making 94hp/160Nm and 115hp/200Nm respectively.
- Currently, Škoda is focusing on clearing stocks of the BS4 Rapid with heavy discounts. Feature-wise on the outside, the Rapid will feature a much sleeker design with new Skoda badging taken form the previously modelled Scala.
- On the Inside, The 2020 Rapid will also get a revamped floating infotainment system with a three-spoke steering wheel. Additional features on the Rapid include onboard include cruise control, steering-mounted audio controls, front and rear parking sensors, dual airbags, ABS with EBD.
