Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota has recently taken the cloaks of the all-new and 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift and the 2021 Toyota Hilux facelift. Both the model features a significant amount of updates. The brand has also claimed that the new and improved Hilux pick-up will offer better performance and fuel economy compared to its out-going model.
So let’s have a look at what makes the new 2021 Toyota Hilux different from its outgoing model.
2021 Toyota Hilux | Engine Specification
The new upgraded model gets an all-new 2.8-litre diesel engine which complimenting the 2.4-litre diesel unit. The new engine unit is capable of generating 204hp with an amazing 500 Nm of peak torque and can do 100 from a standstill in a matter of 3.2 seconds. What’s new on the Inside?
On the Inside, we will get to see an updated 8.0-inch infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The company also claims that the updated 2021 Hilux also features a new connectivity software which is much 40% faster and more responsive.
Some additional features include new physical shortcut buttons and an impressive 800W 9-speaker JBL sound system to keep up with the vibe.
What’s new on the Outside?
On the outside, the updated and more improved version of the Ford Ranger rival gets a new front fascia with a 3D grille. The front bumper has been raised to increase give that much-needed height and to increase its “road-presence”.
Reports also suggest that the top-spec variants will also feature an additional LED light cluster on the front and the rear bumper along with an all-new metallic bronze colour scheme.
The suspension and the and steering wheel have also been updated to improve the on-road ride comfort. Toyota has also updated the shock absorbers and added a new leaf spring to make your ride as smooth as possible. Moreover, there have also been a few additional tweaks to improve its off-road presence which includes a lower engine idle speed, revised stability control, a new tyre angle monitor, and an improved throttle pedal response.

Will it Launch in India?
Certain reports suggest that the new 2021 Toyota Hilux was a potential candidate for the Indian Army. However, the Indian army chooses its Indian cousin and close competitor the 3-row Toyota Fortuner instead.
