5 Good Reasons to Buy the 2023 MG Hector

The 2023 MG Hector has just launched in India and it gets some new tech and a new(ish) look! The Hector has been waiting for an update for a long time now, especially since the XUV700 took the segment by storm. Both the Hector and Hector plus were showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo and they sure look fresh! Here’s everything you need to know about the 2023 MG Hector!

New design on the 2023 MG Hector?

The front grille has been completely revamped with this update. It is now bigger, sharper, and a bit more aggressive than before. The LED DRLs are neatly integrated with the grille. The headlight setup now gets a pentagonal treatment and black surrounds. At the rear, the tail lamps have been redesigned to look sleeker, and the lights are connected with a thin LED bar. Overall, the silhouette is similar to the previous model, but there are some slight changes and details are very much welcome.

New features!

The Hector was the first car in this segment that came with so many features. It got an electric seat adjustment for both front seats, ventilated seats, a huge panoramic sunroof, a JBL-powered Infinity sound system, and a massive 10+ inch screen. Well, all of this remains, and a couple add ons are made to the 2023 MG Hector. The analogue driver’s display is not replaced with a completely digital screen, the infotainment unit has been upgraded to a 14-inch unit. This massive screen is set in the portrait position, which makes it look even bigger. It controls every aspect of the car including the air conditioning. Apart from this, level-2 ADAS has not been added and it brings along 11 new safety features.

Engine options

The engines have not been touched on the 2023 MG Hector, and the transmissions are also the same. The 2L diesel engine that makes 168HP and 350nm is paired with a 6-speed manual. Sadly enough, the Hector still doesn’t get a diesel automatic. The 1.5L turbo petrol that makes 163HP continues to come with a 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox.

Safety

Coming to safety, the Hector gets a lot of new features thanks to the level-2 ADAS add-on. Adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring are some of the features that have been added. One specifically interesting feature here is the automatic indicators. This feature will turn the indicators on and off automatically depending on the steering’s angle. Apart from this, the 2023 MG Hector gets 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, front parking sensors, and hill assist.

Pricing

The prices for the 2023 MG Hector start at Rs. 14.73 lakhs, while the bigger Hector Plus starts at Rs. 20.14 Lakhs. It gets 5 variants – Style, Smart, Smart Pro, Savvy, and Savvy Pro. Along with this, MG has also launched a new after-sales package called the 5-5-5 plan. It gives buyers a 5-year warranty, 5 years of roadside assistance, and 5 free services. This should encourage more customers to trust the MG brand.
