3 Maruti Suzuki Cars To Get A Generation Update

It is customary for almost all models in every manufacturer’s lineup to go through an update every year, which is more of a nip and tuck. Maruti has big plans for this year, with new launches and generation updates for existing models. From their list, we have three cars getting updated this year.

These cars have been performing well in their respective segments, and this is a long-due update; let’s have a look:

1. Maruti Suzuki Brezza
   

   

   The second generation of the Vitara Brezza is expected to launch by April this year. This compact SUV has delivered a promising performance and needs this update to keep up with the competition. It will still be powered by the same K15 B 1.5-litre petrol engine with extensive hybrid tech. The 4-speed automatic transmission is also expected to replace a new 6-speed torque converter.

   The interior is expected to be equipped with new features such as a 360-degree camera and wireless charging pads. A factory-fitted sunroof is also likely with the top variants and ESC, paddle shifters, and 6 airbags. The bumpers will also be reworked with a slightly aggressive design and added connected car tech.

2. Maruti Suzuki Alto
   

   

   The little hatchback alto has also been caught spied testing on the road a few times. It is among the top-selling entry-level hatchbacks in the segment. The K10C 1.0-liter dualjet petrol engine will power it. It will also be based on the Heartect platform, similar to the newly launched Celerio. It is expected to arrive around the festive season in October.

   The new powertrain will be equipped with start/stop technology to improve fuel efficiency. The existing 47hp 3-cylinder engine will also be available. Design-wise it will be slightly larger with improved cuts & an angular design. It might also get a semi-digital instrument cluster along with keyless entry.

   

    

3. Maruti Suzuki Swift
   

   

   The updated Swift is yet to make a global debut; hence, India’s launch timeline is also unknown as of now. But the global debut is expected this year; we might get the new generation by next year. There are no mechanical changes expected; it will be powered by the same 1.2-liter engine and mild-hybrid tech for top trims. A CNG version of the Swift was also spied testing.

   Maruti must focus on certain safety aspects and features to further improve its sales numbers. Significant changes are expected in the interior with better upholstery and features like wireless charging pads. The exterior design might also be updated and made sportier. A new set of bumpers with a rearranged headlamp & DRL setup might also be seen with the generation update.
