2019 hasn’t been fair to the Indian automotive industry. New car sales have plummeted drastically for the straight 11th months now. The month of October gave a much-required sigh of relief to many car manufacturers in India. The festive eve of Diwali, Dussehra and Dhanteras saw car makers registering positive numbers after a long time.

The very limited MPV segment in India also saw a marginal bump in terms of sales. So, here we are with the top 4 best-selling MPVs in India.

1. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

   

   The Maruti Ertiga sold 7,197 units in the month of October which is a month-on-month growth of 14.52%. This gives the Ertiga a market share of 25.9% in the MPV segment.

2. Toyota Innova Crysta

   

   The legendary Innova by Toyota got a refresh and a Crysta moniker. Toyota has been the best runner in the MPV segment. The high price tag hasn’t affected the sales for the Innova at all. The Toyota Innova Crysta registered 5,062 units capturing a market share of 18.22%.

3. Maruti Suzuki XL6

   

   The second Maruti making it to the list. The XL6 is a more upmarket and premium version of the Ertiga with many added flairs and features. The XL6 sold decent 4,328 units with a market share of 15.58% in the MPV segment.

4. Mahindra Marazzo

   

   The “Smooth as a shark, Silent as a shark” Marazzo very silently secured 1,044 for the month of October, registering an appreciable month-on-month increase of 17.04%.

5. Renault Lodgy

   

   The new car sale for the Renault Lodgy came out as very dodgy. The Lodgy MPV sold just 48 units in the month of October with a meagre market share of just 0.17%. This represents an M-O-M increase of an appealing -38.46%.
