Maruti Suzuki recently released a teaser exhibiting the electric sunroof for the upcoming Brezza. It is highly spacious and will get an upgraded interior with features such as a 360-degree camera. It will have the same powertrain with mild-hybrid tech enhancing the fuel efficiency. The expected price range is from ₹8-12 lakhs ex-showroom.

    The next SUV on our list is the most powerful one making 200hp with its petrol engine. The Mahindra XUV700 is one of their most excellent products, which is totally worth the hype. It gets a powerful engine with both petrol & diesel options along with a long list of variants & optional additional packs. It is the first SUV in the segment to get ADAS features such as adaptive cruise control, AEM braking, blind-spot monitoring & lane keep assist.

    Being a Mahindra, it is safe & reliable, with a global NCAP rating of 5 stars. It also has one of the biggest sunroofs known as the Skyroof, along with other exceptional features such as auto-boosting headlamps. You can choose which version be it 5/7-seater & variant suits you the best and even get AWD. It has a price range from ₹13.18-24.58 lakhs ex-showroom.

  3. Tata Nexon

    The Tata Nexon has been the top performer for Tata; Nexon & Punch have managed to get the sales numbers up. This compact SUV has been around for more than 5 years in the market and has a funky design with great road appeal & ground clearance. It is also available in various editions such as Dark or Kaziranga, which get respective cosmetic upgrades. It is available with both petrol & diesel engines and even with an electric variant if you want to switch to an EV.

    The petrol version offers a  turbocharged 1.2-litre engine churning out 118hp & 170 Nm torque, while the 1.5-litre diesel makes 108hp & 260Nm torque. The EV also has a longer-range version Nexon EV Max to choose from, which gets a bigger battery pack and extended range. While the IC engine variants range from ₹7.54 to 13.90 lakhs, the EV versions range from ₹14.79 to 19.28 lakhs ex-showroom. It is also a 5-star rated SUV by global NCAP.

    Creta has been Hyundai’s top performer in the mid-sized SUV segment, which is finally facing some competition from new launches such as XUV700, Taigun & Kushaq. It is a 3-star rated SUV available in both petrol & diesel options. After the generation update in 2020, the sales numbers went up. Hyundai also launched the Knight edition of the same with cosmetic upgrades & we might get the N-Line variant too.

    The 1.5-litre diesel engine churns out 115hp & 250Nm torque. The naturally aspirated 1.5-litre petrol makes 115hp & 144Nm torque, while the 1.4-litre turbo churns out 140hp & 240Nm torque. You have more than 25 variants to choose from with your respective engine & transmission choice. It has a price range from ₹11.59 to 20.88 lakhs ex-showroom.

  5. Volkswagen Taigun

    The last SUV on our list is one of Volkswagen’s most modern yet powerful products. The VW Taigun is a fantastic mid-sized SUV loaded with power, features & modernity. It is available with two petrol engines; the former is a 3-cylinder turbocharged 1.0-litre churning out 115hp & 178Nm torque.
