Stage 1,2 & 3 of Tuning a car

Once you start getting your hands dirty while modifying your car, you’ll get to know that there are different parts for different stages of tuning. But what exactly do these stages represent and which one should you go for? Let’s find out.

Stage 1

It is the most basic type of tuning. Stage 1 tuning is suitable for cars that are to be used every day. It requires ‘bolt-on’ or single modification approach. The basic upgrades that are done on the car are suspension upgrade, lighter flywheel, alloy wheels, sports exhaust and panel air filter. These additions do not require any sort of modification to the engine or the car body.

Stage 2

This type of tuning requires an aggressive approach. There will surely be a power enhancement which will require some other involved parts to be changed in order to keep the car safe. The changes done in stage 1 will be added with a high flow injector, ported and polished head, sport clutch, fuel pump upgrades and a fast road cam.

This tuning will make the car track-ready but you can still drive it on the roads. Though, you will have to get the car serviced more readily than the normal schedule.

Stage 3

The car tuned with this stage of tuning is not suitable for use on roads. You will have to add engine balancing, a turbocharger or a supercharger, bigger pistons, bigger valves, competition cam, sports gearbox and much more in the engine. If you are planning to get Stage 3 tuning done on your car, first of all, you’ll have to forget about the fuel economy. But in return, you’ll get the maximum power output from your car. This car won’t be able to pass the emission tests but will fly past the opponents on a track any day. Being this powerful will also add to a disadvantage, you cannot drive the beast through the traffic easily.

So this was a list of 5 budget-friendly and tuning-friendly cars in India that you can choose from and how can they be tuned. But that’s not all, Stay tuned for the second part!
