7 Hatchbacks That Will Look Great As Dark Edition

Out of all the superheroes in the world of imagination, Batman will always have a special place in the heart(and the mind). While his gadgets and martial art skills are exemplary, it is his rides that pull in most of the attraction, and the primary reason for that is the colour. Specifically, the black colour in all its hidden glory looks great on almost any car. Here we have seven hatchbacks that will look great as dark edition, and we sure are waiting for them to come true.

  1. Hyundai i20/i20 N-Line

The New Hyundai i20 is already an excellent European looking car, and the dark version of this hatchback only amplifies the effect to make it look great. The existing colour variant called Starry Night looks almost black but is dark blue, and yet looks very much like a dark edition. I think it would be a nice addition to the collection of colours it already has and may improve the sales as well.

Of course, we had to show this excellent render for the i20 N-line performance series, and it looks menacing, to say the least. The blacked-out alloy wheels and the red accents are the highlights, if you ask me. This should definitely be offered as an option, right?

  2. Maruti Suzuki Baleno/ Toyota Glanza

One of the highest-selling hatchbacks of all time, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is one of the best-looking too. But I think it has very limited colours to choose from, and the addition of a Dark Edition will be a boon to the consumer and the manufacturer. It already has excellent interiors, a good engine, and a special dark edition will garner more sales as it makes the consumer feel special. Doesn’t it have killer looks even with a glossy paint job and those red accents?

  3. Maruti Suzuki Swift

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift has a radical design with spacious interiors and the same engine as the Baleno. With a bit of help from the Dak Edition that has a black paint job but with red accents sprinkled here and there, I am sure the Swift will never step down from the top of the sales charts.

  4. Renault Kwid

The above image shows a digital render of the previous-gen Renault Kwid, and I think it looks stunning. The large blacked-out alloy wheels with a white outline and low profile tyres, a completely black paint job with red accents around the fog lamps, and a very unique DRL make it a special Dark Edition for sure. A similar setup on the new generation Kwid would make it look all the more sweeter.

  5. Volkswagen Polo

The Volkswagen Polo is definitely a hatchback that will look great with a dark edition model, and how many of you think I am lying? With that timeless design, almost any colour is suitable, and the addition of a dark variant steps up the game for its competitors. It already has a great turbo petrol engine to suit the character of the dark edition and thus fuels your inner demon. We saw the recent matte edition on this car, and it looks great, but we feel it would have looked more sinister in black than the grey colour it comes with.

  6. Maruti Suzuki Ignis

The first Urban SUV in Indian has a rather whacky design that is hard to comprehend as a hatchback or a crossover. Even so, I kind of like it for the design standing out from the crowd and being unique. Imagine this design having a special dark edition, not exactly but almost like the one shown in the image above. The red accents surrounding the fog lamps, red ORVMs and red stripes running through the shoulder lines give it a sporty feel and looks very appealing. I think this should make the cut and into production because dark edition vehicles seem to be the trend, and Maruti won’t regret this for sure.

  7. Tata Tiago NRG

All of us know how well Tata gives the Dark Edition treatment on their cars, and I, for one, am not complaining if they did it to all their vehicles. But in that lot, there is a hatchback crossover that has impressed me with the design and definitely needs to be given the dark edition treatment. The Tata Tiago NRG is a rather handsome crossover with a rather well-designed package than going the funky way like the Ignis. It has good ground clearance and does all of its duties as a hatchback without any complaints. With all this package, a dark edition can only make it a better car to own.

We couldn’t include the Honda Jazz as it will be going through a generation update soon, and we want to see how that will turn out before adding it to the list of hatchbacks that will look great as a dark edition. Apart from these, which other hatchback do you feel can be added to this list and which one is your pick among them all? Let us know in the comment sections below.
