Audi to Get a Whole New Generation of Vehicles to India

Audi India is silent for a while now with no new car launches or reports of further upcoming cars. Audi A6 sedan, Q8 SUV and A8L luxury sedan are the only cars launched in the last six months. It’s hard to digest that for the time being only these cars will be available in the Indian market. The company sold all its old BS4 well before the 1st of April.

The company notified that the new BS6 compliant cars from the brand will either come with a whole model upgrade or the facelift at the least. Balbir Singh Dhillon (Head of Audi India) added that some of the upcoming vehicles will be brought for the first time to the Indian market and others will be from the next generation.

Audi India was quick enough in removing the A4, A5, Q5, and Q7 from their domestic website. Amongst the above, the A4 and Q7 might be the first to get the upgrade.

In spite of A4 receiving a minor update last year in the form of ‘Quick Lift,’ the car will get a more promising facelift in the upcoming months. The upgrade might include the latest 10.1″ touch screen infotainment system with premium sound. You can also expect the car to get the same 1.4litre turbo-petrol engine option capable of producing 150ps@5,000-6,000rpm of power and about 250Nm@1,500-3,500rpm of peak torque.

The second offering from the German brand that could make it soon is the new big daddy Q7. The new facelift surely gonna adopt Audi’s new bolder new style scheme. The new design surely will bring back the bulky and macho appearance the old generation of Q7 had. On the inside, the car gets the all-new overhauled dash which adopts Audi’s new dual-touchscreen infotainment setup. As the Audi India claims to pass over the diesel engine, it will be full of suspense which engine they’ll be opting for now. Q7’s last generation came with a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine churning 250hp of power and about 370Nm of peak torque.

Though Audi’s head added that they have not given up on diesel, the new upcoming cars will come with petrol only options. Well, this can be a long wait considering the widespread of COVID-19 or Coronavirus in the entire world.
