Although the new emission norms will be complying from the 1st of April this year, many Indian automotive manufacturers have started offering BS6 compliant cars in the market.

The Domestic automotive manufacturers were under high pressure as converting a BS4 compliant car to a BS6 compliant is no joke and is a vicious cycle. Performing many experiments and tests the automotive companies have executed many changes in and outside of the vehicle. The engine or powertrain having the most number of changes.

Before about a month left for the incoming of new norms, currently many manufacturers have their offering in BS6 compliant cars. The vehicles range from the as low as 5-lacs and all the way up to the premium segments.

The KIA comes with a whole lot of engine options. The engine options vary from 1.5-Litre petrol and a diesel alongside a peppy 1.4-Litre Turbo Petrol engine. The engines being BS6 compliant.

Jeep Compass made a really deep impact in the Indian market with its sporty looks and best performance figures in the price point. The new compass does not get any cosmetic changes. The only updates are in the engine and prices. The Compass comes with a 1.4-Litre turbo-petrol engine (160hp power, 250Nm torque) mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT. In the Diesel, the car gets a 2.0-Litre turbo-diesel (170hp power, 350Nm torque). Both the engines are BS6 compliant.
