The part micro SUV, part hatchback, and S-Presso have given the buyers the opportunity to its potential buyers to enjoy the seating and ride of an SUV with the practicality of a hatchback. Because of this fact, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso gained 8.2% sales when compares to last month.

That said, Alto because it looks and feels old, it witnessed a 56% drop in sales in March 2021.

    Another Maruti Suzuki, but definitely now the last on the list is the recently updated Celerio. After a not-so-good response from its previous generation, this one promises a little more of everything than before.

    Slowly but steadily, the sales numbers are climbing for this new affordable hatchback. In March 2021, Maruti recorded a sale of 4,720 units, which has increased by about 36% in March 2022, to 6,442 units.

    The only vehicle in the top ten best-selling hatchbacks from Tata is the Altroz. Altroz is also the safest vehicle on this list as it boasts of a 5 stars rating in the global NCAP crash test.

    Despite all the marketing strategies, Altroz at first appealed to many buyers but now has become a little weak. In March 2022, Tata sold 4,727 units of Altoz. And the number is a little over 37% lower when compared of March 2021.

  9. Hyundai i20 – 4,693 Units

    Despite being the most expensive in its category, the Hyundai i20 still made it to the top 10 best-selling hatchbacks in India. Hyundai i20 was updated in the second half of 2020 with a new engine and a completely new design and feature set.

    Still, the hype didn’t last for much time. In March 2021, 9,045 units of i20s were sold. In the same month of 2022, the numbers are nearly 50% lower.

  10. Maruti Suzuki Ignis – 4,472 Units

    And concluding the top 10 list is another vehicle from Maruti Suzuki, it’s Ignis. At first, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis was a hatchback that had a lot of capabilities, and also has rather cute aesthetics of a typical Japanese toy are.

    But the company changed the character of the vehicle and called it a micro SUV. What? Yea to jazbat hi badal diye. Surprisingly, despite that Ignis registered a Y-O-Y growth of 2.59% in March 2022.

These were the best-selling hatchbacks in India. Uf! Rather best-selling Maruti Suzuki hatchbacks in India. Out of the top 10, 7 are from the house of Maruti Suzuki. Ouch. Still, it’s difficult to say what the competition is doing.
