Motorcycles with the Best Looking Taillights

Well, we can’t leave you with just one end of the story, right? So in this article, we tell you the tales of the other end by making a list of 10 motorcycles with the best-looking taillights under the 500cc category. Honestly, there are more than ten on this list, but we have grouped with the ones of the same design but used on different models from the same manufacturer.

  1. Bajaj Pulsar 150/180/180F/220F

We start the list with the design that brought the LED taillights to the mass market through the Bajaj Pulsar 150. These taillights were all the rage during the initial release, and the entire design of the bike came together very well, and it worked out pretty good for Bajaj. The Pulsar series was the most sold bike for many years and even now sells in good numbers. The twin LED step-like design was a massive hit in India and many other countries to which the bikes were exported.

  2. Royal Enfield Meteor 350

If you’re looking for a simple, retro taillight design, then this should do it. It sits comfortably on the rear fender and offers a very minimalistic approach with a touch of retro design using chrome around the taillight and modern touch using the circular LED. We feel it matches with the overall Neo-retro design of the Meteor 350.

  3. Yamaha R15 V3/V4

When designing a bike, Yamaha sure is on the top of the list in almost every segment. The rear lights on R15 v3 and newly launched R15 v4 look similar to those on its bigger brothers, the R1 and R1M. Well, we are not complaining, and if anything, it makes it a good selling point. Yamaha sure is banking on this ideology as these smaller bikes are the ones that sell in more significant numbers.

  4. TVS Apache RR310

The taillight unit on the Apache RR310 is hands down the best looking taillights in India right now. You ever heard the saying, ” You mess with the bull, you get the horns “, this is precisely what it means, except for the fact that these horns are at the back to warn the ones coming behind to be careful. The design is absolutely stunning to look at in person and goes exceptionally well with the rest of the bike. This one should be at the top, but not sure why it is here, hmm.

  5. KTM RC 125/200/390

The taillight design on the KTM Duke series might be a tweaked version of the ones on the Pulsar series, but the RC lineup goes one-up and adds that thin line of LED which looks brilliant. When you press the brakes, you will know that this design is tweaked from the Pulsar series with that step-like design on either side. But, when you ride/drive behind an RC, you will be able to see that thin line that goes well with the entire bike’s rear design, and that’s why it has one of the best looking taillights.

  6. TVS Apache RTR 160/180

When Bajaj was basking in all its glory with the newly introduced Pulsar with LED taillights and digital speedometer, its arch-rival TVS had to think of something and ended up with this design for the Apache RTR 160 and 180. We feel this was a befitting reply and this design looks equally good, if not better than the ones on the Pulsar. Even this design is still available on the Apache RTR 160 and 180, just like its opponent design available on the Pulsar 150 and 180.

  7. Honda Hornet/CB200X

The Honda Hornet brought something new to the high selling 150-200cc segment, and it was a rather refreshing design compared to the same old Pulsars and Apaches. The X-shaped LED taillight looks different; combined with a macho-looking fat rear tyre, it is bound to sell well.

  8. Suzuki Gixxer/SF 150/250

The first generation of the naked Suzuki Gixxer and its faired brother, the SF, was good, but they felt dull compared to its competition. That’s the reason they had to be updated, and then came these striking LED units that are not only simple but functional. They are bright, clear and can be seen from long distances, making them useful even at night.

  9. Honda XBlade

Another Japanese entering the list of the best looking taillights is the one on the Honda XBlade. The design is unique and looks like a lot of things, to be honest. It looks like a grappling hook, and it seems like a full-sleeve T-Shirt, among other things left to your wild imagination. The clear LEDs are bright but not visible from long distances, especially during the night.

  10. Husqvarna Svartpilen/Vitpilen 250

The Huskies follow a minimal but attractive approach. Both the bikes feature the same taillights, and it has a different appeal to them. The entire bikes’ design is minimal, and the taillight follows suit while also being compact and creative. If you are searching for something different in the market and one that does not grab much attention, you need to consider this.

While these are the top 10 designs, we have one particular entrant who has a unique set of taillights, and we thought we had to showcase it away from the top 10, and the one we’re talking about is the taillight of the Jawa Perak.

Perak’s design could not fit into the top 10 as it needs a special mention, which is why we put it here. While it is an LED, it is not super bright, and the main problem being visibility, especially if the rider is carrying a bag on his shoulder while travelling since there is no rear seat or luggage hooks. Even still, we love it and wish it was more practical, but all that vanishes with just one look at the complete bike.

Apart from the ones mentioned on the list, we understand there are many more bikes with a good taillight design, and we would love to hear from you. Also, please let us know which takes precedence for you. Is it the design or functionality?

    • Pulsar RS200 would have definitely made it to the top of the list if the list was about the most unique looking taillights. But when it comes to the best looking, that taillight is polarizing. So, you either hate it or you love it and trust me there are a lot of people out there who think that design is horrific but I know everyone can agree that it is bright and takes a more functional approach than form.
