BMW iX3 Electric SUV Powertrain Revealed!

BMW has officially revealed its new pure-electric SUV christened as the iX3 at the Beijing Auto Expo which is being developed as a rival to the Jaguar I-Pace. The BMW iX3 will be the one of its kind pure electric vehicle to come out of BMW’s newly formed iNext electric sub-brand.

• The production of the BMW iX3 is supposed to commence in 2020, Moreover, the all-new BMW iX3 will come powered with BMW’s fifth-generation eDrive powertrain which will also feature in the upcoming BMW i4 sedan and iNext SUV.
• Under its powerful and aggressively styled powertrain, the iX3 will come equipped with a 70kWh battery pack along with a 214kw electric motor pushing the maximum power output to 268hp/400Nm.
• With the new powertrain, the ratio between the overall power output and weight has improved by over 30% overall other previous generations.
• Additionally, with the WLTP cycle, the iX3 claims to a maximum range of 440 kilometres and low power consumption of just 20kWh/100 km.
• Apart from these mechanical features, the BMW iX3 also supports a Plug&Play system on the batteries as the high-voltage battery on the iX3 will get a second auxiliary battery pack fork the period which follows the first long life on the car.
• According to leading media reports, the iX3 will be produced for the world by a joint venture of BMW Brilliance Automotive, Shenyang, China.
• We can also expect the iX3 to its debut on the Indian shores as well but only after it goes on sale in the international markets. On the contrary, the iX3 will rival the likes of Mercedes-Benz EQC, Audi E-Tron and the Jaguar I-Pace.
