The Chinese carmaker BYD: Build Your Dreams has launched itself into the Indian EV market with its e6 MPV. This brand is backed-up by Warren Buffet, and the e6 starts at ₹29.15 lakhs. However, BYD will only sell the e6 B2B; it will only be available as a commercial vehicle for now. It will be available to private buyers later when BYD opens up according to their marketing plan.

Battery & Range
EV battery range indicator The BYD e6 is powered by a 71.7kWh battery which makes 95hp & 180Nm torque. It also has a WLTC certified range of 415 kilometres, and this could go up to 520 kilometres on the WLTC city cycle. BYD will also provide a 7kWh fast charger for an extra ₹45,000; e6 also supports DC fast charging and charges up from 30-80% in 35 minutes.
This 5-seater MPV has a lithium iron phosphate battery with a top speed of 130km/h. It is also capable of energy regeneration at low speeds too.

Features
Inside the e6, it comes with a 10.1-inch infotainment system, Bluetooth & wifi connectivity, leather seats, and a CN95 air filter system. The driver’s seat is 6-way adjustable, and the outside e6 has LED DRLs & LED taillights.
Safety-wise it has four airbags, TPMS, ESP, hill assists & an electronic parking brake.

Warranty
BYD offers a warranty of 3 years or 1,25,000 kilometres with a battery cell warranty of 8 years or 5,00,000 kilometres. The motor warranty also stands for eight years or 1,50,000kilometres.

Dimensions
The official dimensions have not been disclosed yet, but we expect it to be similar to the one sold abroad. It has 580 litres of boot space and sits above the Ertiga and below the Carnival with a length of 4.69 meters.
