All of us own and drive cars that belong to some or another brand in India. Every car brand in India has a manufacturing plant within the country and this will definitely interest you if you get to know about the manufacturing city of the car you are driving right now!

1. Honda Cars India
   

   

   Honda is majorly known for its sedans, such as City & Civic, which have been running on Indian roads for over two decades. They launched the Honda City H;ev this year and might also launch a mid-sized SUV in the market.

   Honda has plants for both two-wheelers & 4 wheelers in India. While they have multiple two-wheelers plants, they manufacture their cars at a state-of-the-art facility in Alwar, Rajasthan.

2. Nissan & Renault
   

   

   Nissan & Renault have seen a rise in sales after the launch of the compact SUVs Magnite & Kiger. While Teranno might not have caught up, some people wish the updated Duster would be in India.

   While Magnite has played a vital role in the brand’s survival in the Indian market, Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Limited has a manufacturing plant in Oragadam near Chennai.

3. Citroen
   

   

   Citroen is also among the newcomers in the Indian passenger vehicle market. It offers a premium SUV C5 Aircross along with a hatchback C3. They are planning to launch a compact SUV & an electric car as well.

   Citroen manufactures its cars in Tamil Nadu, like the other brands mentioned above. They have highly localised their manufacturing and make their cars at the CK Birla production facilities in Thiruvallur.

4. Toyota Kirloskar Motors
   

   

   Toyota is among the matured brands in India known for its reliability and products like Innova & Fortuner. Their latest launches include the Hyryder hybrid SUV and lifestyle pickup truck Hilux.

   Toyota has two manufacturing plants in India, both located in Karnataka. While one of them is Bidadi, the second one is situated in the outskirts of Bengaluru.

5. Mercedes Benz India
   

   

   Coming to the luxury carmakers in India, we first have Mercedes Benz on our list. They have a manufacturing facility spread across 100 acres in Chakan Pune. It was inaugurated in 2009 and had been operating since then.

6. BMW & Mini
   

   

   The last car brand on our list is another luxury car maker BMW. They have a manufacturing facility in Chennai, a parts warehouse in Pune, and a training centre in Gurugram.
