Top Selling Car Brands October 2021 | Indomitable Maruti

Festivities are around and most of you might have been eyeing new vehicles. This is one of the major reasons that has given the Indian automotive industry a sales boom in the month of October 2021.

Although the overall sales has reduced if we see the YoY stats, brand like Nissan and Skoda have shown over 100% YoY growth! Without any doubt, Maruti is still leading the sales chart followed by Hyundai but both of them have experienced a YoY de-growth. Here’s the car brand sales report, October 2021.

  1. Maruti Suzuki (1,08,991 Units)

As always, Maruti is the top-selling car brand in India for the month of October 2021 too. With a sale of 1,08,991 units, MSIL has shown a 33.41% de-growth. While Maruti’s stats have experienced a fall, the brand still continues to have almost 42% of the market share.

  2. Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (37,021 Units)

At the second place is Hyundai with a sale of 37,021 units. You might have noticed a significant drop in the sale figures when we moved from Maruti to Hyundai! Well, other brands not being able to sell even half of what Maruti does, clearly shows consumer behaviour. Hyundai, being a decent car brand with a great lineup, deserves more. Don’t you think so?

  3. Tata Motors (33,925 Units)

This Indian automaker is climbing the chart with each month! This time, Tata Motors is here on the 3rd rank with a sale of 33,925 units. Well, this figure is considerably great for a brand that has just started climbing up. The Tata Punch, for instance, is among the top 10 selling cars in India, in the first month of its sales itself! Nexon, Tiago, Tigor also continue to sell well. The YoY growth recorded by Tata is 43.65%.

  4. Mahindra (20,130 Units)

You can expect Mahindra to grow further. Now that the XUV700 has been launched, Mahindra will definitely show a great spike in the sale numbers. For October 2021, the Indian automaker ended up at almost 20,000 units with a YoY growth of 8.10%. Do you think the high waiting periods are responsible for Mahindra not being able to pick up so well? Drop your thoughts in the comments section.

  5. Kia Motors (16,331 Units)

Moving on with the car sales for October 2021, we have the Korean automaker, Kia. With a sale of 16,331 units, Kia ended up in 5th place. Seltos, this time, landed among the top 10 selling cars in India beating the Hyundai Creta which is definitely a positive sign for this brand in the Indian market. We hope Kia expands their lineup soon and climb the sale chart gradually.

  6. Toyota Kirloskar Motors (12,044 Units)

Well, Toyota has been an evergreen brand and continues to sell as it used to in the last year. With a very minor 0.54% YoY growth, Toyota is holding a sales figure at 12,044 units. With the Belta, Rumion coming in, do you expect the sales to grow further? We think Belta could be a revolutionary product as Yaris could not do well in the Indian market.

  7. Renault India (8,910 Units)

    Renault Kiger

This automaker forms the first one below the 10k mark with a sale of 8,910 units and a YoY drop of 19.04%. Renault Kiger seems to be the only machine that has helped build the car sales for October 2021 for the brand. Others in the lineup, disappointingly, don’t sell too well. Kwid, however, has developed as a popular hatch in the Indian market.

  8. Honda Cars India (8,108 Units)

    Honda Amaze

In the 8th spot, we have Honda Cars India with a sale of 8,108 units. We think that Honda definitely needs to worry about their dipping sale number and work on a strategy that would suit the Indian audience. Expanding their lineup and making something exclusively for India might work as it did in Amaze’s case. What do you say? The YoY drop for this brand is at 25.10%.

  9. Nissan (3,913 Units)

    5 most affordable CVT cars
    Nissan Magnite

Another brand that had picked up in the recent past but has come back to low sale numbers. The launch of the Magnite was a turnaround for Nissan in India and now that their sales have formed a plateau, they should definitely work on their market strategies. However, if you look at what Nissan did in the same month last year, you would notice a ‘more than impressive’ YoY growth of 254.12%! Would you buy Nissan Magnite over the Renault Kiger? Do let us know in the comments section below.

  10. Volkswagen (3,077 Units)

Last but not least, on our list of car sales for October 2021, we have Volkswagen among the top 10 brands with a sale number of 3,077 units. People still buying Volkswagen is a surprise. We are not saying that these machines aren’t worth it but VW should bring in the latest tech and form factor to India too. Don’t you think so? Apart from this, Polo is still a hatch that can make you rule the roads!

Here is a tabular representation of the data.
