As we enter the month of May, it is result time yet again. With all leading OEMs competing in a fierce market, there are both winners as well as losers. So here’s the monthly OEM sales report for April 2022.
Maruti, Hyundai, and Tata: The Leaders
- As was expected, India’s largest OEM, Maruti Suzuki has yet again led the pack with a total sales of 1,21,995 units. However, when it comes to the YoY and MoM growth, things weren’t as good for Maruti as it reported a decline of 10.22% (YoY) and 8.86% (MoM).
- Following up was Hyundai with sales numbers clocking 44,001 units. But much like Maruti, Hyundai too reported a decline of 10.21% in terms of YoY growth, and 1.34% MoM.
- On the third number, was Tata Motors which clocked in a total of 41,587 units for April 2022, with a massive 65.72% YoY growth, and a small 1.67% decline in MoM numbers.
Mahindra, Toyota, Honda, Skoda, and MG: Follows Up
- Up on number four is Mahindra with a total business of 22.525 units, with a 23.19% YoY increase, and an 18.39% decline in MoM numbers.
- Following up was Toyota with 15,085 units with a massive 57.14 % increase in YoY sales, and a substantial 11.94% decline in MoM numbers.
- Honda too did well with 7,874 units, but a 13.21% decline in YoY sales. However, the OEM managed to clock in a 19.50% increase in MoM sales.
- Next up was Skoda, which sold 5,152 units with a mind-blowing 436% YoY Growth; the highest for any OEM. The YoY growth of the OEM was so good that the MoM decline of 8% seems too low.
- Last but not the least, MG India reported cumulative sales of 2,008 units. However, the OEM reported a decline of 21.72% YoY and a 57.47% decline in MoM Sales.
