Car Sales Report September 2021 | Maruti & Hyundai Leading!

We are about to reach the end of 2021 and now that September 2021 has come to an end, we are here with the car sales report for the month of September 2021. Before we dive into the numbers, we want you to know that the last month has not been a good one for the Indian automotive industry. The overall sales figure has been low and here are the exact numbers that the Indian automotive industry yielded this time.

  1. Maruti Suzuki (63,111 Units)

    India’s top-selling brand has experienced a huge dip this time but has still maintained its ranking. MSIL is still in the first position with a YoY drop of 57.33%. No matter how low the sale number might be, if there is a collective impact, you can be sure about the fact that Maruti will be on top for sure.

  2. Hyundai Motor India Limited (33,087 Units)

    Following Maruti Suzuki, we have Hyundai in second place with a sale of 33,087 units and a YoY drop of almost 35%. A major thing to notice here is that Kia Seltos has taken over the Hyundai Creta in the sales chart. Creta formed to be the first one from the Hyundai family to be on the top 10 list.   3. Tata Motors (25,730 Units)

    Given that the Punch has launched just now, we expect Tata’s sales to go up further in the coming months. The new Tata Punch will push the Indian automaker’s sales in the coming months but for now, Tata has ended up selling 25,730 units with a YoY growth of 21.37%.

  4. Kia Motors India (14,441 Units)

    Finally, we have seen the historic moment where the Kia Seltos has surpassed the Hyundai Creta in terms of sales! Kia Motors ended up selling 14,441 units with a YoY drop of 22.68%.

  5. Mahindra & Mahindra (13,134 Units)

    Moving on, we have Mahindra with a sale of 13,134 units and a YoY drop of 11.60%. With the upcoming XUV700 going on sale this figure is expected to shoot up in the coming month. For now, without the XUV700 on the charts too, Mahindra has experienced only 11.60% de-growth which is quite good.

  6. Toyota India (9,284 Units)

    The everlasting brand. Toyota India is known to develop cars that last a lifetime! Now that they have started rebranding Maruti’s stuff, they have also begun to get good sale numbers and for the month of September 2021, Toyota ended up selling 9,284 units with a YoY growth of 14.39%.

  7. Renault India (7,326 Units)

    This carmaker has been a good one in the Indian market considering the demand. Realising what the Indian audience wants at what price range Renault rolled out the Kiger and it sold like hotcakes. For September 2021, they ended up selling 7,326 units with a YoY regrowth of 16.80%.

  8. Honda Cars India (6,765 Units)

    Moving forward, we have the Japanese automaker with a sale of 6,765 units. Honda has been a very trustworthy brand in the Indian market and now that we have City among the top-selling sedans, Honda is definitely expected to put up a good number on the sales chart. For September 2021, Honda ended up selling 6,765 units with a YoY fall of 34%.

  9. MG India (3,241 Units)

    The Chinese automaker is among the few who have shown a YoY growth for the month of September 2021. With a sale of 3,241 units September proved to be a good month for MG and recorded a YoY growth of 27.75%.

  10. Skoda India (3,027 Units)

    Last but not least, Skoda ended up September 2021 with a sale of 3,027 units and YoY growth of a whopping 130%! The Skoda Kushaq has been a promising vehicle in the Indian lineup of the Czech brand. We hope other vehicles on the same platform will help this brand grow further.
