CVT or Continuously Variable Transmission; A marvel of engineering in the automotive world. A CVT is one of the most efficient forms of automatic transmission and with its belt on a pulley system, allows for virtually infinite gear ratios which is how a CVT is able to achieve peak efficiency. Of course, there are some demerits to a CVT transmission; Most prominent being the “rubber-band effect”. So, without further ado, allow me to introduce you 10 cheapest most affordable budget CVT cars, under 10 Lakhs, you can buy in India.

Datsun GO (T CVT) – ₹6.51 Lakhs
Starting with the cheapest CVT car on the list; the Datsun GO in its T variant comes equipped with a 1.2L petrol engine mated to a CVT transmission. Datsun, with its entry into India, was not able to woo the Indian audience primarily because of its dated and rebadged line-up of cars. The RediGO, on the other hand, saw a fair share of success.
Datsun India recently updated the GO hatchback but that didn’t do anything for the sales. The Datsun GO T (CVT) is currently the cheapest CVT automatic car that you can buy in India.
-
Datsun GO+ (T CVT) – ₹6.79 Lakhs
The Datsun GO+ is basically the Datsun GO that went to the gym. The GO+ is Datsun’s attempt at introducing an affordable MPV to the Indian market. In fact, the Datsun GO+ is the cheapest MPV that you can buy in India right now. Powered by the same 1.2L petrol engine, the GO+ in its T variant is the cheapest CVT equipped MPV that you can buy at ₹6.79 Lakhs.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno (Delta CVT) – ₹7.91 Lakhs
How can Maruti Suzuki miss out when we are talking CVT. The Baleno in its Delta Automatic variant comes equipped with the same 1.2L Suzuki Engine but, mated to a CVT gearbox. It was very clever of Maruti to introduce the Baleno premium hatchback in a CVT (not an AMT) avatar as buyers of the Baleno expected great ride quality and premium drivability (And Maruti delivered!).
-

The Baleno…we mean the Glanza is Toyota’s rebadged entry into the CVT hatchback segment. I might just copy-paste the entire thing.
