Citroën C3 | Everything You Need To Know

Citroën unveiled their first car from the C Cube series yesterday, the Citroën C3. The car is designed for first-time car buyers and comes with any time, anywhere, any device, any content digital assistance for owners. The french car will be locally produced in India with 90% localised parts. Here is everything you need to know about the Citroën C3.

1. Dimensions

   

   The C3 is 3.98 metres in length and has a 2.54-metre wheelbase with 180 mm of ground clearance. The car also has a high bonnet and an elevated driving position. Interestingly, Citroën chose not to call the C3 a sub 4metre SUV, positioning it instead to compete with both SUVs and hatchbacks in the Indian Market.

2. Quirky Look

   

   The C3 has a youthful appearance. The orange and black highlights on the white cross hatchback make the car stand out. The slender X shaped daylight running lamps, the faux skid plate and the large grille plate, gives the relatively small double chevron character.

   The car will be available in 4 colour options white, grey, silver and orange with two roof colour options- grey and orange. Citroën also offers as many as 78 accessories to help you customise your car to reflect your personality.
   

3. Spacious interiors

   The Citroën C3 boats of “market-leading comfort and spaciousness”. The back seats feature two large headrests and  653 mm of legroom. This is more than what any mini SUV provides at the moment.

4. Infotainment system

   

   The C3 comes with a 10-inch touch screen infotainment system that supports both  Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Additionally, the system will have a smartphone mirroring feature. The infotainment console will be placed on a dashboard that lives up to it in terms of design.

5. Powertrains

   Citroën hasn’t yet revealed its engine and gear specifications. But considering that the car plans to take on low range compact SUVs, it is likely to have a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and a six-speed manual gearbox along with an automatic transmission option.

6. Rivals

   

   The C3 will take on both hatchbacks and entry-level SUVs in India. This includes The Renault Kiegar and the Nissan Magnite. Hatchbacks such as the Maruti Suzuki Vistara Brezza and Maruti S Presso too are close competitors.

7. Launch date

   Citroën has officially set the India launch date for C3 in the first half of 2022.

8. Expected Price

   Since Citroën has created the C3 for first-time car owners who look for design, comfort and technology, we expect the C3 to be priced between 5-9 lakhs in India.
