In case you have a turbocharged car, you should refrain from CNG without any second thoughts. If your car is a naturally aspirated machine with an automatic gearbox, you can still consider getting CNG in your automatic car but still, you will feel a considerable lag in the power generated.

Lag in Gearshifts
Honda City CVT Transmission So now that we are talking automatics, you can’t say that you will shift according to your need. You will experience a huge difference in the shift points and your transmission will definitely go through a lot to adapt to that change. In case your kit is not installed and tuned properly, it can prove to be a threat to your car’s transmission.

As of now, the RTO doesn’t allow registering aftermarket CNG kits in new BS6 vehicles. Hence it is not recommended to install aftermarket CNG.

CNG doesn’t usually work good with automatic cars, the reason why OEMs also don’t put in CNG in automatic variants. You will face some serious shifting lags and the gearbox ecu will be at risk too
