Some companies launched and showed concept models which are completely different from the actual launch product.   • Tata Indica Silhouette

The Tata Indica Silhouette is one of the craziest concepts which came from an Indian manufacturer. This crazy looking Indica was built by Tata and Jayem Automotives which had a 3.5-L, V6, Petrol motor. This engine made 330 ps of max power and a 6-speed sequential gearbox channelled this power to the rear wheels of the car.

The Tata Indica Silhouette weighed just around 850 kgs and it was capable of doing a standstill to 100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds! So, this would have been India’s very own sports car only if it made its way to the roads. But the prototype/concept still is one of the fastest and craziest cars from an Indian manufacturer till date. So, this is one of the Craziest Car Concepts That Came Out Of India

  • Maruti Zen Classic

Zen is one of the most loved cars in the Indian market. The car had a decently powerful engine which matched the lightweight characteristics of the car. This resulted in, the Maruti Zen to be a fun and perfect family car. Zen also got a new variant added to its lineup which is the Zen Classic.

The Maruti Zen Classic designed in a retro way. The car had round headlamps, sober taillamps and seats which differentiate it from the standard Zen. Some people loved the retro design of the vehicle but some didn’t like it and preferred the simple-looking standard Zen. The Marurti Zen Classic was powered by a 993 cc, Inline-4 Cylinder, Petrol engine which produced 50 bhp of power nd 70 Nm of torque. The Zen Classic was very lightweight like its sibling weighing around just 755 kgs. So the power to weight ratio of the Zen is really good.

  • Tata TaMo Racemo

Tata TaMo Racemo is a race car developed under Tata’s sub brand TaMo. The car was showcased in the 87th Geneva Motorshow. Tata TaMo Racemo is powered by a 1.2-L Revotron Turbocharged Petrol engine which made 190 ps of power and 210 Nm of torque. This engine on the Racemo was capable of doing 0-100 kmph in just under 6 seconds.

  • Tata Sierra EV Concept

The Tata Sierra was a legendary car to be manufactured by Tata. The SUV still has a crazy fan base. Tata knows this and is thinking of bringing back the Sierra nameplate in the form of an EV! The upcoming Sierra EV has nothing to do with the old Sierra. The Sierra EV will be built on ALFA architecture which is strong and lightweight. They are doing what they did with the Safari nameplate. But the design language resembles the OG Sierra.\

The upcoming Sierra EV will be built on the new ALFA-ARC platform which is strong and lightweight. The features include LED lighting, Sunroof, Dual Tone Alloy Wheels, Sliding doors etc. There is no information about the technical specifications of the Electric SUV yet. We will update you once it is out.

  • Mahindra Funster

Auto Expo 2020: Mahindra Funster Electric Vehicle Concept Unveiled in India

Mahindra Funster is another EV concept car that mainly aims towards performance. The car got unveiled in 2020’s AutoExpo. The Mahindra Funster is powered by 59.1 kWh twin electric motors which help the car to go from 0-100 kmph in just 5 seconds. This motor produces 313 ps of power which gets delivered to all four wheels.

  • Tata H5X Concept

The Tata H5X is one of those concepts which made its way to the production line. The codenamed Tata H5X is the concept of Tata’s SUV which is based on OMEGA platform, the Harrier. Both the concept and production models looked really awesome. The SUV is powered by a 2.0-L, Inline-4 Cylinder, Turbocharged Diesel engine which is also shared with the Jeep Compass, MG Hector’s and the Tata Safari.

Some concept cars look awesome but when those concept models make their way to the production line, they look different from what the buyers expected from the car. The same thing happened with the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. The concept model of the S-Presso looked Ok but, the MS messed up with the production car and made not so good looking micro SUV. But, this design language didn’t bother the sales figures at all. The MS S-Presso still sells in healthy numbers.

The S-Presso has the same engine which powers the Maruti Suzuki Celerio and WagonR. This 998 cc, Inline-3 Cylinder, DOHC, K10B Naturally Aspiarated Petrol engine produces 67 bhp of power and 90 Nm of torque. The same engine is also available with CNG with slightly lowered power.

  • Tata Connect Next

Tata Motors Displays ConnectNext Concept At 2014 Auto Expo

The Tata Connect Next is another EV from an Indian manufacturer. This was first showcased at 2014 AutoExpo. This crazy EV has cameras as outside rearview mirrors, B Piller free entry, an internal rearview camera that doubles as a parking camera display. The Tata Connect Next offers a cloud-connected internal wireless hub for video conferencing, Heads-Up Display etc. The technical specifications are unknown yet. We don’t even know if this concept makes its way to the Indian roads or not.
