The mid-size SUV is the hottest segment right now, with Vitara as the latest addition from Maruti Suzuki. The Grand Vitara SUV has a vast audience waiting for the launch, which will compete with the segment king Hyundai Creta. While Creta has had a strong hold over the segment for a while, things may change soon as Grand Vitara has a lot to offer:

Overall, Creta has a sportier appeal, but if you are looking for something bold, Vitara is worth the wait. Creta might have a slightly longer wheelbase, but Vitara is more extensive dimensionally. Dimensions below:

Creta has three engines to choose from, offering a turbo & diesel version, while the Grand Vitara offers two petrol engines with mild/strong hybrid tech. Grand Vitara takes the win here due to the impressive fuel efficiency of up to 27.97kmpl with the hybrid tech along with the AWD variant with the drive modes.

Maruti Suzuki has significantly improved on their feature list and loaded their new SUV with features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 4-speaker layout, digital instrument cluster, heads-up display, and a panoramic sunroof.

Both these SUVs have a similar feature list, but Creta offers a more extensive infotainment system built into the dash and a premium Bose speaker setup. Safety-wise, both are equipped with TPMS, all disc brakes, ESC/ESP & hill-hold. Creta is priced between ₹10.44-18.18 lakhs ex-showroom, but there is no word on the pricing from Maruti Suzuki as of now.

      Talking about efficiency, it all depends on SUV or the vehicle you want to know about. Not all SUVs in the same price range offer the same mileage/efficiency. Hope it helps, stay pinned! 🙂

    • Hey Sunil! In simple terms, a mild hybrid system consists of a battery that helps push your engine a bit more in the lower RPMs. It can increase fuel efficiency by 10-15%. A strong hybrid system comes with a bigger battery that is capable of directly powering the wheels. This helps in city traffic and efficiency can be increased by more than 50% here.
      Specifically for roads in the Himalayas, both cars will perform similarly, since the engine will be engaged most of the time instead of the battery.
