Installation of EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation)
EGR, as the name suggests re-circulates the exhaust gasses inside the combustion chamber in order to reduce NOx (nitrogen Oxide). Which is very harmful to the environment. The downside of EGR is increasing COx (Carbon Oxides) which is less harmful than NOx by a considerable large amount.

Adding SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction)
SCR is also a device used in the exhaust of diesel engines. This is responsible for further reducing NOx levels from the exhaust of the vehicle. In SCR an Ad-blue additional tank is installed in the vehicle. It contains an ammonium solution. The NOx from the exhaust combines with the ammonium and reduces NOx levels by a large extinct.

Installation of DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter)
DPF is a porous device attached to the exhaust system. As diesel engine produces a ton of soot and particulate matter. DPF acts as a filter to soot and doesn’t let it escape into the environment.

Addition of RDE (Real Driving Emission)
Some vehicles will be getting RDE as standard. This is to keep a track of the exhaust gasses while the engine is running by adding sensors to the exhaust system.

Improved Injection system
The DI (Direct-Injection) system of the diesel engines will be upgraded by a considerable amount. This is to do with the new BS6 diesel engine that needs to run on less lubricating and less polluting BS6 fuel. The new BS6 diesel is deprived of sulphur in order to reduce SOx (Sulphur oxides).
All that considered a few extra costs paid to buy the new less polluting is justified. As it is our environment we have to save.
