With the latest spy shots coming in, our excitement level has surely popped up once again. With 2022 Ford Eco Sport now seeming to be closer than ever before, it’s time we quickly go through what we know so far. So pull up your socks, as we go through 10 things to know about the upcoming 2022 Eco Sport facelift.
New Front Profile
Thanks to the latest spy shots, it is crystal clear that the upcoming facelift Eco Sport will come with all-new exteriors. As per the spy shots, the Eco Sport is about to arrive with a revised front end that will get L-shaped LED DRLs, all new bumpers and a slightly less aggressive grille design.
No Changes at the Rear
If spy shots are to be believed, the Eco Sport 2021 will not be incorporating any major changes at the back and will continue to rock its classy and evergreen rear design with a tailgate-mounted spare wheel onboard.
Even though reports suggest that the Eco Sport would not undergo an interior update, we still expect the facelift to arrive with a bigger 8-inch floating touch infotainment, with Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity. There can also be an inclusion of a wireless charger inside.
The new spy shots that have recently surfaced also showcase the 2021 Eco Sport having a new set of 5-spoke design alloy wheels that are to replace the existing ones. In a blackened avatar the new 5-spoke design can surely enhance the SUVs looks.
Ample Safety Onboard
The 2021 Eco Sport facelift is also expected to come with ample safety equipment onboard with inclusions such as ABS, EBD, 6 Airbags, Hill Launch Assist and Electronic Stability Control and Rear-view Camera with sensors etc.
If reports are to be believed, the 2021 Ford Eco Sport will be designed on the modified avatar of the existing Eco Sport’s B3 platform. It will be the first B architecture that will be developed by Ford’s global product development process. In its modified iteration the B3 platform is likely to get more robust than the existing one.
No Changes Under the Hood
Unlike the exteriors, the Ford Eco Sport Facelift will continue to be powered by the same engine as in the pre-lift model. This means that it will be powered by a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine (122 PS/149 Nm). This engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter. It also gets a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel (100 PS/215 Nm) with a 6-speed manual gearbox only.
Locking horns within the most competitive segment presently in the Indian Market, the facelifted vehicle will lock horns with the new Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet etc.
With the 2021 Ford Eco Sport update, Ford is expected to price the Eco Sport much more aggressively. We expect prices anywhere between Rs. 8.5 to 13 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom), which will make the vehicle even more worth the money.
Expected to enter the Indian market around the festive season, Eco Sport can launch anywhere between October to December 2021. We know you are as excited as we are!
