Got your FASTag yet? If not, this one’s a piece of good news for you. The RFID tag is once again available for free. You can get the RFID tag for your car for free once again. The Indian government made the RFID tag compulsory for all the vehicles, private or commercial plying on the Indian roads.
Though many vehicles on the Indian roads are missing FASTag till now so the government has planned yet another move to increase the presence of this tag to make the toll collection faster and easier. It will be available free of cost from today i.e February 15 to February 29. The National Highways Authority of India has waived off the fee (Rs.100) from all the FASTags bought between 15th February and 29th February 2020.

In an official statement released by NHAI, it said “To search for the nearest NHAI RFID tag point-of-sale locations, one may download MyFASTag App, or visit www.ihmcl.com or Call 1033 NH helpline number,” “Road users can visit any authorised point-of-sale location with a valid registration certificate (RC) of the vehicle and get an NHAI FASTag free of cost.”
