A pioneer in sports car manufacturing, Ferrari yet again shifts the launch of its first-ever electric supercar. Ferrari, known for its V8 and V12 mean engines is not yet ready with a fully functioning EV drivetrain to match the Ferrari Forté.

Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri said that the tech isn’t “where it should be yet” stating the autonomy and the recharging speed issues as the major hurdles. He stated, “There are still significant issues in terms of autonomy, in terms of speed of recharging. So eventually we will come out with one. But it’s post-2025. Not in the short term”.

Camilleri also brought to the knowledge of Ferrari’s interest in various drivetrains such as hydrogen or biofuels powered drives in order to deliver the maximum possible output. He said the designers and engineers at Ferarri’s Maranello facility are looking at various powertrains and trying to see what would be the most efficient and effective in terms of what our vision is for Ferrari cars in the future.
In 2018-2022 lineup, Ferrari has outlined several models including hybrid models which have electrical existence to support the drivetrain. This Ferarri’s mean machine is powered by a 4.0-Litre V8 engine accompanied by three electric motors delivering a cumulative horsepower of 986. The supercar does 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds, pretty impressive!
It can also cover 15 miles on the full EV drivetrain. Though the distance travelled is not much, but the adrenaline rush, the 986hp is going to give will be unmatched by any plug-in hybrid in the existence and the real Ferrari experience.
Ferrari will reveal a car that will kill even Tesla. Porsche will be next.
