Mustang Mach-E | Ford’s Electric SUV

Seems like Ford is getting a hang of making electric cars. Ford will unveil the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV on 17th November at the LA Auto Show. In a previous news report, Ford showcased the all-electric Mustang “Lithium” Muscle car which uses an 800-volt Webasto battery that delivers upto a megawatt of electrical discharge and 671 kilowatts to the wheels. This translates to a 900 hp/1,356 nm tyre shredder.

Ford will start taking bookings for the Mach-E SUV in the USA and Europe after the official reveal at the LA Auto Show. The first batch of car buyers will get the “First Edition” privilege.

The Mustang Mach-E will reportedly be launched in the first quarter of 2020.

The Mustang Mach-E EV is heavily inspired by the Mustang line-up with major design cues abridged from the muscle car. The Mustang Mach-E will rival the Tesla Model Y electric SUV.

The new Mustang Mach-E gets a long muscle car-type bonnet (or hood, as the Americans say) and a new grille up front. The EV Suv features a crossover type of body shape with air vents and louvres.

Inside the car, the Mach-E boasts a large centrally mounted vertically infotainment screen along with an all-digital instrument cluster for neat and seamless cabin design.

The Mach-E will be offered in both AWD (all-wheel drive) and RWD (rear-wheel drive).

The Mustang Mach-E will have a range of 595km (WLTP-certified) on a single charge. Ford had also announced that an affordable version of the electric Mustang SUV which will feature a less powerful motor and battery pack.

There is no official confirmation from Ford regarding launching the Mustang Electric SUV in the India market.
