With rising prices of petrol and diesel coupled with a growing anti-diesel sentiment. CNG as an alternative fuel, has gained traction. This is why almost all OEMs are keen to launch their bestselling models in a CNG avatar. And with the launch of the Hyryder CNG scheduled, it will be fun to look at what the Grand Vitara and Creta CNG will offer. So here’s the upcoming Grand Vitara CNG compared with the Creta CNG.
Grand Vitara CNG vs Creta CNG Powertrain
While the arrival of both CNG-powered SUVs is a speculation as of yet. From media reports all around, it is likely that the Grand Vitara CNG will offer the same spec as the Hyryder CNG. This includes a 1.5-litre petrol burner producing 88hp in CNG mode. A 5-speed manual will handle transmission duties. Expected to return efficiency of 26.10km/kg, the Grand Vitara CNG will be Maruti’s first offering with petrol, petrol hybrid and petrol CNG.
The Creta CNG, on the other hand, is likely to offer the 1.4-litre GDI turbo petrol mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The power and torque output of the engine will, however, be reduced, as is common for all CNG-powered vehicles. Other than that, all information is currently under wraps.

Grand Vitara CNG vs Creta CNG Variants, Features and Price
Regarding the Hyryder CNG, Toyota has officially revealed that the SUV will be available in two trims. Based on this, we expect the Grand Vitara CNG to offer fewer than two trims, which can even be as many as four to five. For the Creta CNG, we can similarly expect at least two CNG trims offering similar onboard features and safety equipment as the trims they will be based on.
Regarding pricing, we expect the Grand Vitara CNG to be priced lower than what the Hyryder CNG will come at. For Hyundai, However, prices could match what the Hyryder offers.
