Last month witnessed some prominent launches such as Hyryder, Brezza & Scorpio-N. While the pricing of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is still awaited, it indeed has a lot to offer. Many people are having second thoughts about going for the Hyryder rather than the Brezza 2022. They do have some similarities as Hyryder is a collaborated product. Let’s see why Hyryder can take over the Brezza:
Powertrain & Fuel Efficiency
Brezza 2022 comes with the same engine as before; it is powered by the K15C 1.5-liter petrol engine with Dual Jet & VVT technology. It churns out 103hp & 137Nm torque while being mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter. Hyryder, in contrast, comes with the following two engine options:
|Engine||1.5-litre Mild Hybrid Petrol||1.5-litre Hybrid Petrol|
|Power||101hp & 135Nm torque||116hp & 141Nm torque|
|Transmission||5-speed MT/ 6-speed torque converter||e-CVT|
As it comes with hybrid tech as standard, it is expected to perform better in terms of fuel efficiency. At the same time, the 1.5litre TNGA Atkinson’s Cycle Petrol engine with a self-rechargeable hybrid ecosystem will provide enhanced fuel efficiency. It has a 177.6V lithium-ion battery which brings the overall expected fuel efficiency to 25kmpl.
As the Hyryder is a midsize SUV, it is dimensionally more extensive than the Brezza. It is 370mm longer, 5mm wider, and with a 100mm longer wheelbase. It will be more spacious with extra legroom for the rear passengers. It has premium styling as compared to the Brezza, with bigger 17-inch alloys as standard.
It has a mature design with streamlined cuts throughout the side profile, giving it a distinct and elegant appearance. The rear fascia is also well designed, and the chrome strips add to the appeal. In contrast, the Brezza has continued with the previous boxy design & cladding on the sides.
Brezza 2022 comes with a single pane electric sunroof, while the Hyryder comes with a panoramic sunroof. It also gets the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Smartplay Pro+ for most of the variants, while Brezza gets it only for the top trim and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system for the rest.
It has a more premium interior as compared to the Brezza, with ventilated seats, drive modes & AWD for some variants. Hyryder gets 6 airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, traction control & a tyre pressure monitoring system.
