Japanese carmaker Honda has recently issued a voluntary recall of over 70,000 cars in India. The reason cited for the recall is due to a possible faulty fuel pump, fitted across models manufactured during a certain time frame.
The defective fuel pump installed in these is also suspected to contain a defective impeller which could lead to sudden engine stopping or the car not starting at all. A total of 77,954 different variants have been affected.
The replacement of the defective fuel pump will be carried out free of cost at HCIL dealerships across India in a phased manner starting from 17th April 2021 and the owners are being contacted individually. The recall includes all models except the 5th-gen Honda City.
