Global NCAP has tested two more cars for India. The Honda Jazz & City have been crash tested, and the score indeed seems promising. Going with the latest laws, now every car is equipped with dual front airbags, standard front seatbelt warning & ABS.

Honda City Scores 4 Stars
The fourth-generation Honda City was tested, which is still on sale only as a petrol version in two variants. It is good value for money and the enthusiast’s choice, and it scored 4-stars in the crash test for adult occupancy.

Honda City scored 12.03/17 points in adult occupancy with a slightly unstable bodyshell. However, it scored 38.27/49 in child protection; a child seat was equipped with ISOFIX anchors for the test. This result is reassuring for all the City lovers and future buyers.

Honda Jazz Scores 4 Stars
The second generation of the Honda Jazz has been running in the premium hatchback segment since 2015, with the most recent update received in 2020. it is among the oldest running hatchbacks and is the most spacious one in the segment.

Honda Jazz scored 4 stars in adult protection with 13.89/17 points. It scored slightly more points than City in the adult protection due to a better body structure. Child protection scored 31.54/49 points, the bodyshell integrity was stable, and the car performed well.

Honda’s lineup & NCAP
The Global NCAP tests began in 2014, and since then, they have conducted over 50 tests, but there are only one or two Honda cars tested so far. Before testing these two, we only had the Honda Mobilio that scored three stars with two airbags equipped.

We hope to see the newer models such as the WR-V and the fifth generation City to be tested soon. A good NCAP rating is a must-have with the rising focus on safety while buying a new car.
A further update is expected in July 2022, which might also factor ESC in the crash tests along with side impact & pedestrian protection tests. What do you think about these results?
