10 Things You Can Expect In The 7-Seater Hyundai Alcazar

There was a time when owning an SUV was a luxury. But with the advancing technology and growing demand, these large utility vehicles have overtaken the automotive market. Not just in India, but the market overseas, SUVs; huge, compact and subcompact are selling like crazy. Amidst this, here in India Hyundai is in the top league in delivering big vehicles to its customers. That said, with the generation change of the Hyundai Creta last year, the company has big plans of introducing a 6/7-seater SUV in this competitive market, the ‘Alcazar’.

For you to know, the new Hyundai Alcazar will majorly be based on the company’s Creta with just an extra row of seats. Also, we may be witnessing the launch of this SUV somewhere in mid-2021. So, get excited people as we can assume the SUV to be packed with features just like it’s a smaller sibling. Talking about which, this is what we can expect from the Hyundai Alcazar.

  1. 6/7-seater

The USP or the talking point of the Hyundai Alcazar has to be the additional 3rd row of seats. That said, as of now based on the spy shots we can exclaim that the 6-seater Alcazar will be getting a couple of comfortable captain seats in the middle. Along with AC vents for all the row of seats. On the contrary, the 7-seater version would be sporting a bench seat similar to the one in Hyundai Creta.

  2. Panoramic Sunroof

Next comes *THE* most favourite feature for us Indians, sunroof, that too Panoramic Sunroof. Though this feature for some surely is a gimmick but there is no denying the fact that if your car has one, it drastically uplifts the cabin. And who can forget the huge glass area, wherein you could see a zillion stars at night (not in Delhi NCR though!).

  3. Powerful engine options with driving modes.

Currently, Hyundai offers 3 engine options in most of its cars. A couple of petrol engines and a diesel. But the upcoming Alcazar may not get the naturally aspirated petrol engine. But considering the more powerful which is a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine, it is capable of generating 138hp of max power with 242Nm of peak torque. This engine could come with either a 6 -speed MT or a 7-speed DCT automatic. Not to forget, if it is a DCT you’ll be getting driving modes and different levels of traction control.

  4. Wireless Smartphone Connectivity

It’s a common thing to get a wireless smartphone charger, well this Hyundai Alcazar will also have it in its long list of features. What is not so common is wireless smartphone connectivity. Let me tell you, in this new full-grown SUV from Hyundai you may be able to connect your smartphone with the car’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly. Yup! No strings attached!

  5. Ambient Lighting

Subtle and little details in the interior of the car always get us excited, right? Well, one such detail is the ambient lighting. Like the Hyundai Creta, the Alcazar may boast of ambient lighting but it may go a little further by offering RGB lights. On the contrary, Creta only has blue mood lighting on the inside.

  6. Premium Sound System

6 speaker with a subwoofer is all an audiophile would ever want in their stock car. Sure, Hyundai Alcazar may get all of that but the cherry on the cake can be the fine-tuned music system by BOSE. Okay! I agree it was a little obvious but it was worth mentioning as the soundstage by Bose is just mind-blowing.

  7. Bells and Whistles

A vehicle from the house of Hyundai without features is next to impossible. Hence, the top-end variant of the Hyundai Alcazar may get all the features carried over from the Creta with the addition of some new ones. An air purifier with perfume dispenser, check! A 10-inch infotainment system and digital instrument cluster got it! Also, one of the features that SUV may come with is the tyre pressure monitor.

  8. Creature Comforts

The new Hyundai Alcazar may have the Hyundai’s car welcome feature. This is where the car opens the OVMs and switches on the puddle lamps when you approach the vehicle with the key fob in your market. Now that you are inside, you can witness a plush interior with higher quality material. Additionally, it may be getting ventilated seats in the front and getting the same for the middle row will definitely be sweet.

  9. Myriad of Safety Features

Global NCAP has tested many Indian cars, the consequence is that now people are better informed about the safety of cars in the country. That said, we can expect the new Hyundai Alcazar to be safe and get all the basic features like dual front airbags and some of the electronic aids like ABS EBD, TC and BA as standard. But the higher variants may get 6 airbags with more electronic driver aids.

  10. Hyundai’s Service Trust

In the end, after the Hyundai Terracan, Alcazar would be the full size 6/7 seater SUV after almost a decade from this Korean brand. This was the only segment that was missing from the companies line up here in India. With Alcazar, one can invest in this tried and tested brand with shared DNA.

After the launch of this Hyundai, one can expect it to be priced a little higher than the Hyundai Creta. And Alcazar will rival the recently launched Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV 500 (which will also be updated soon).
