Hyundai Exter to Launch on 10 July

Hyundai is finally set to launch its smallest SUV, Exter, in India on July 10, 2023. So far, we have seen the car’s design, and the engine lineup has also been revealed with a bunch of features. Let’s see what this SUV will offer:

Design

Hyundai Exter India launch date

Hyundai has showcased the Exter partially through various teasers, but spy shots have revealed the final design. It has a boxy design with an upright stance, a split headlight setup, and a tanking rear area.

Exter gets round and flared wheel arches with thick cladding around the sides. It stands on dual-tone alloy wheels with roof rails on the top and a textured finish for the C-pillar. Hyundai has not revealed the exterior details yet, and there might also be dual-tone paint options to give a floating roof effect.

Powertrain & Features

Hyundai Exter gets sunroof and dash cam

Exter shares its platform with the Grand i10 Nios & Aura and will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a CNG version. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual, or AMT, gearbox. However, the AMT is only available with the petrol variants. Except for the usual tech, Exter is equipped with these first-in-segment features, making it an exceptional package.

It gets some first-in-segment features, such as an electric sunroof and a dashcam. The sunroof is also voice-enabled with simple commands such as “Open Sunroof” or “I want to see the sky”. The dashcam has a dual camera that enables the user to record both front & rear views of the car with multiple recording options. The 2.3-inch LCD display provides a clear view of the footage captured. It also has app-based connectivity for easy access.

Launch & Delivery

It is set to launch in India on July 10, 2023. Hyundai aims to make a lasting impression by setting an excellent driving experience in entry-level cars. The Exter is also equipped with six airbags as standard, along with 26 safety features.

Hyundai is offering this little SUV in the following five trims: EX, S, SX, SX O), and the top-spec SX(O) Connect. Bookings are already open, and the first batch of deliveries will commence in the second half of July. Based on the current bookings, a large number of buyers have chosen the higher variants with an automatic transmission. However, the bookings and variant split will change when the prices are announced.
