Korean auto major Hyundai seems to be planning to bring fuel cell electric vehicles to India. The company has already started a feasibility study as part of the plan.

Hyundai Nexo, which is already on sale on international platforms, could be the first launch to be equipped with this technology. Hyundai has been found claiming that the Nexo is the world’s first dedicated hydrogen-powered SUV and that it has a range of close to 380 miles, highest for any fuel-cell or electric vehicle in the market.
The Hyundai Nexo has been already showcased in India during the 2018 India-Korea Business Summit, in New Delhi.
Hyundai holistically believes that the Fuel Cells for electric vehicles is the ultimate solution for the eco-friendly mobility that might change the scene of the automobile eco-system all around the world. Major reason being, Fuel Cells for electric vehicles comes free from greenhouse gasses emissions as vehicle filters and purifies the air during their drive.

The Hyundai Nexo comes with a 95kW fuel cell that powers an electric motor generating 161hp and 395Nm of peak torque. The Nexo has a WLTP-certified range of 666km, a 0-100kph time of 9.2sec and a 177kph top speed, the Nexo is Hyundai’s technological flagship.
Apart from the futuristic powertrain, the Hyundai Nexo comes equipped with a suite of driving functions. The Hyundai Nexo features a blind spot monitor, a Lane Following Assist (LFA) and Highway Driving Assist (HDA) and a self-parking function. It is likely that Hyundai will bring this model as a CBU for the Indian market.
