Hyundai Palisade gets a 5-star safety rating!

The Hyundai Palisade has scored a 5 on 5 safety rating in the latest edition of the crash test conducted by the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA). This is the US Government’s version of the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). Hyundai Palisade is available in both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive form. This flagship SUV from the Korean automaker has scored a 5-star rating in both the front and side crash tests. However, in the rollover resistance test, this Hyundai SUV has scored a 4-star rating.

The flagship SUV from the Korean automaker – The Hyundai Palisade gets the latest edition of the safety kit from Hyundai. This includes 7 airbags Hyundai’s Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection technology, lane keep assist, blind-spot monitor, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic collision detection and driver attention warning as standard. The car also gets a rear occupant alert system. This detects is there is any movement on the rear seats when the car is locked. This initiates a horn and also informs the driver via BlueLink connectivity. The safety rating given is worth it because this one also gets an exit alert which tells the occupants about any traffic nearby while they open the doors.

Features such as the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System with individual position display, 3-latch anchors in the second row and 2-latch anchors in the third row make the Hyundai Palisade a safer car and hence a deserving car for the 5-star safety rating! The Palisade has also been rated as a 2020 top-safety pick by the Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) if it is driven with the LED headlamps which come as an option in the variant lineup.

Hyundai Palisade has got a 5-star safety rating in the US and Hyundai is currently evaluating its existence in the Indian market. We are yet to see if this SUV makes its way into the Indian market. Till then, 2020 Verna is the newest Hyundai in the country. The next-gen i20 will also arrive here soon.
