Yes, our favourite hatchback will soon get a new look. It won’t be a major facelift but considerable changes are expected to be made. Hyundai plans to upgrade the Santro in order to match the competition in the market. The South-Korean automaker brought Santro back to life in October 2018 to mark the 20th anniversary of the hatch in India.

We can expect the new Hyundai Santro to come with a new front bumper and a reworked front grille. The interior is also expected to get some new features which will make the hatch more feature-packed. This will help the Santro to live upto the competition in the market. Santro did well in terms of sale initially when it was launched but the sale dropped gradually.

Initially, the sale numbers went as high as 7000 units per month but from May 2019, after the launch of the new WagonR, Hyundai Santro’s sale dipped to 3000-3500 units per month.

The D-lite and Era variant for the Santro was discontinued in July 2019. Replacing the Era, a new trim- the Era Executive variant was launched which is more feature-packed.

The new Hyundai Santro will carry the already existing 1.1litre 4-cylinder engine which will continue to develop 68 Bhp of power along with 99Nm torque.
