Diwali is just around the corner, and we are as excited as you are. And one thing that completes the festival of lights, other than family, friends, colours, and card parties, is sweets. Available in all shapes and sizes, sweets are an integral part of every Indian festivity. And with Diwali being a major reason to rejoice, we thought of playing with our creativity a little bit. So here’s our fantasy take on what if cars were Diwali sweets.

1. Soan Papdi – Maruti Suzuki WagonR
   

   

   Starting off with the most famous yet infamous Diwali Sweet, Soan Papdi is known for its ability to be literally omnipresent. And with Diwali round the corner, Soan Papdi is something that everyone’s got but nobody really wants. Much like our beloved hatchback veteran WagonR which is also as omnipresent as it gets.  Even in the pre-owned market, the WagonR has its own charm, as it’s a hatchback people tend to “give others” a lot when they are done. Typical Soan Papdi we must say.

2. Motichur Laddu – Maruti Suzuki Alto

   

   Another people’s favourite Motichur Laddus are one of the best-selling sweets of all time, much like the Maruti Suzuki Alto. Popular throughout the nation, Motichur are known for their wide availability and consistent taste throughout India. The Alto too is quite popular with over 40 Lakh cumulative sales. Unbelievable isn’t it?

3. Gulab Jamun – Hyundai i10

   

   A widely available sweet that comes in different shapes and sizes, the Hyundai i10 much like Gulab Jamun has been offered in different shapes and sizes, from the original i10 to the Grand i10 Nios. That’s not all, much like a Gulab Jamun; the i10 always delivers no matter what shape or size it comes in. An affordable duo the i10 and Gulab Jamun seems like a match made in heaven.

4. Gond Laddu – Tata Nexon

   

   Famous for their Hard AF avatar, Gond Laddu is known for their bonding that is made possible with the use of acacia gum. In the automobile world, if there is one SUV known for being H-A-R-D it’s the Tata Nexon. Scoring full marks (5 stars) in its crash testing, the Nexon has proved its mantle that’s unlike the acacia gum, is achieved through the Nexon’s fortified platform that is built with high tensile strength.

   

5. Plain Burfi – Maruti Suzuki Swift

   

   Burfis are supremely famous for being diverse, tasty, easy to make and widely available. But amongst the uncountable versions of Burfi, the Plain Burfi is a rather simple one. It lacks the feel-good factor available in other flavoured Burfis but still sells like hotcakes. And all this resembles the widely famous Maruti Suzuki Swift, which when compared to its contemporaries, lacks taste, but sells a lot irrespectively.

6. Rasgulla – Hyundai Creta

   

   The white ball that comes directly from heaven it seems, Rasgulla is the lifeline of Indian festivities. Available at every nook and corner of India, Rasgullas have truly evolved through the years. And talking about vehicles that have truly evolved becoming omnipresent throughout India, the Hyundai Creta is the name that comes to mind. Loved by millions of Indians, the Hyundai Creta much like the Rasgulla is the first choice for many.

7. Kaju Katli – XUV700

   

   Loved by all but affordable to some, the XUV 700 and Kaju Katli are absolute soul mates. Known to be a sweet as well as a vehicle of taste, both Kaju Katli and the XUV 700 are their respective class. In fact, driving the all-new XUV 700 and tasting a freshly made Kaju Katli can be bliss to experience.
