1. Hyundai Verna
   

   

   Starting with one of the best-selling C-segment sedans in India, the Hyundai Verna. 2006 is when this sedan from the Korean carmaker started its journey in India. And it’s been a long time now and it still is one of the most value for money vehicles one can buy now.

   Next comes the car that is in direct competition with Hyundai Verna from day one, the Honda City. If not Verna, the second choice for the sedan lovers is the City or vice versa. Well, it all depends on the preference. Having a softer suspension and acres of space on the inside, Honda City is clearly the most comfortable sedan in its class.

   

   For people who are fond of roomy back seats and save themselves from the hassles of driving, Honda City is their prime choice. And yes, from 1998 Honda City has been the top shot for that company and became an instant hit as was launched.

   Ford usually carries its Rally Racing DNA into its cars, making them tough and robust. Well, Ford Fiesta was one of the cars that Ford used to race in. 5. Tata Nexon EV
   

   

   Last time we mentioned Nexon which indeed is an SUV that was an instant hit in the market and so is its brother with an electric powertrain, Tata Nexon EV. Nexon EV was launched in the Indian market in early 2020. As time progressed, the car became even more in demand.

   

   Fun Fact: Some time ago, Tata Nexon EV was in equal demand as Tata Nexon Diesel. That said, currently, the cheapest and the most reliable EV one can buy is the Tata Nexon EV. 6. Maruti Suzuki Swift
   

   

   Next to SUVs, hatchbacks are in the line that people prefer nowadays. And undoubtedly it has to be the Maruti Suzuki Swift that was and still is one of the best selling mid-size hatchbacks in the market. 2005 is when Maruti Suzuki brought this hatch in the domestic market. And as soon as it was launched back then, people went crazy about this hatch.
   

   Now, after a couple of generation changes and many minor facelifts, Maruti Suzuki Swift is still going strong. It was at the beginning of 2021 when the company updated the Swift in the Indian market by making it a little more powerful.

7. Skoda Rapid (Rider Plus)
   

   

   At first Skoda Rapid was any other regular sedan on the road. But then things took a drastic turn after the implementation of the BS6 emission norms. This is when Skoda ditched the diesel engine and also the 1.6-MPI engine in the Skoda Rapid.

   

   Instead, this vehicle was pampered with a new 1.0-litre TSI motor. Wish the company had done it earlier as then the Skoda Rapid with this 1.0-litre TSI motor was in huge demand. Why you may ask? Well at the price of a premium hatchback you were getting a powerful C-segment sedan. This made the Skoda Rapid (especially the Rider Plus variant) one of the best selling powerful sedans in the segment.

8. Maruti Suzuki Baleno
   

   

   Welcome to another vehicle on the list to be from the house of Maruti Suzuki. Guess, the carmaker exactly knows what the people of India want. It was 2015 when Maruti Suzuki resurrected the name Baleno by handing over the name to its premium hatchback. At the time of its launch, Maruti Suzuki Baleno was made to rival the likes of other premium hatchbacks, including Hyundai i20, Ford Figo, Honda Jazz and more.

   

   And trust us, the car just hit the bull’s eye later to become the best selling premium hatchback in India. Still, the Baleno is on sale and mostly makes a place in the top 10 selling cars in Indian with occasionally taking the top spot.
