And undoubtedly it has to be the Maruti Suzuki Swift that was and still is one of the best selling mid-size hatchbacks in the market. 2005 is when Maruti Suzuki brought this hatch in the domestic market. And as soon as it was launched back then, people went crazy about this hatch.

    Now, after a couple of generation changes and many minor facelifts, Maruti Suzuki Swift is still going strong. It was at the beginning of 2021 when the company updated the Swift in the Indian market by making it a little more powerful.

    Instead, this vehicle was pampered with a new 1.0-litre TSI motor. Wish the company had done it earlier as then the Skoda Rapid with this 1.0-litre TSI motor was in huge demand. Why you may ask? Well at the price of a premium hatchback you were getting a powerful C-segment sedan. This made the Skoda Rapid (especially the Rider Plus variant) one of the best selling powerful sedans in the segment.

At the time of its launch, Maruti Suzuki Baleno was made to rival the likes of other premium hatchbacks, including Hyundai i20, Ford Figo, Honda Jazz and more.
