With already a strong position in India, Kia is a name that is globally renowned for its vehicles. With too many goodies on offer, here are 5 Kia cars; we wish should arrive in India.
The flagship global sedan, the Kia Stinger comes with a peppy 2-litre petrol engine that returns 247 PS with 353 Nm and a power-packed 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 200 PS with 440 NM. Much like all other Kia cars, the Stinger comes in a GT line as well, that offers a bigger 3.3 litre twin-turbo V6 with 365 PS and 570 Nm. The stinger is paired with an 8-speed auto and RWD as standard with an optional AWD.
Kia K5 Optima
Another good-looking sedan from the house of Kia, the K5 Optima is quite a charm in the South Korean market. Powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 180 HP of power, with the GT trims offering a bigger 2.5-litre turbo with 290 HP both paired with 8-speed auto. The K5 Optima is a hot sedan and we mean it, and if launched it may have the potential to take on the likes of Skoda Octavia, Elantra etc.
Ever since its launch, the Kia Telluride has kept the world talking. Much like all other Kia cars on offer, Telluride’s most amazing aspect is its value-for-money approach with ample features and spacious interiors. Topped with a 3.8-litre V6 engine producing 300hp and 355Nm of torque, the engine does wonders with its 8-speed automatic with 4WD on offer as well when opted. Overall, the Telluride is an awesome package that we would love to see in India.
Much like the affable Stinger, the Cadenza too is the torchbearer of Kia’s luxury approach. With features like 12.3-inch touch infotainment, and advanced ADAS features onboard, the Cadenza is powered by a 3.3-litre V6 engine producing 290hp and 345Nm of torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by an 8-speed automatic gearbox. In totality, the Cadenza is all about luxury which could be the perfect thing that could boost Kia’s position in India.
Showcased to the world at the Auto Expo 2018, the Kia Rio is the company’s Hybrid approach that has since its debut impressed millions. The Rio offers a 1.0-litre TDGI engine with a 48V mild hybrid engine. There’s also a 1.6-litre inline 4-cylinder engine generating 130 HP with 161 Nm. If launched in India the Rio can take on the likes of the Jazz, Baleno, and i20 etc. and can be a great premium hatchback option.
