Here’s The Solar Car Built By A Kashmiri Mathematician!

Incredible India! It is the one thing that comes to mind when you read the story of Bilal Ahmed. Bilal, hailing from the valleys of Kashmir has invented the electric car that runs solely on solar energy. Let’s take a deep dive into this Solar Car, and learn more about its maker!

  • Who is Bilal Ahmed?

Bilal is a Mathematician from Kashmir, he’s a teacher by profession and an automotive enthusiast by passion. He had always wanted to build something extravagant. At first, he tried his hand at building a car for the differently-abled, however, that couldn’t work out due to financial constraints. In 2009, he decided to build an electric car that would be powered by solar energy. It took him over 11 years of research and development, but he finally did it. He successfully built this self-sustainable electric car! Bilal says that if he had enough financial support and guidance, he could have been the Elon Musk of Kashmir!

  • What is this Solar Car?

Well, this car is built on what looks like an old Maruti 800. It has solar panels all around, and a charger on the inside. These monocrystalline solar panels are of super high quality and can generate ample electricity with the least amount of light. Bilal says that this car has top-notch features, just like any luxury car could have. The car even has falcon doors, just like the Tesla Model X! From a distance, this car surely looks like the DeLorean from Back to the Future!

  • Are Solar Cars the future?

Well, it’s too early to say that solar cars will be the future. We have just stepped into the electric world and manufacturers are not going to switch to solar energy anytime soon. Mass production of solar-powered electric cars could be the next big thing. We’ll only have to wait and watch!
