Kia Carnival is the luxury MPV and the second product by the Korean automaker. This one was launched at the Auto Expo 2020. Kia Carnival has got no direct competitor in India as of now. This one exists as the only luxury MPV in India. Toyota Innova Crysta can be considered as a rival if we anyway want to consider a competition! This one has also received a great response just like the Kia Seltos. Kia Seltos was able to overcome the tough competition in its segment. Now, the Carnival has also touched a sales milestone.
Kia Carnival recently crossed the 3000 sale mark! It has been only 3 months since the MPV went on sale in India. Automotive sales have been all-time low in the previous month due to the worldwide pandemic and the following lockdown. In March alone, Kia shipped around 1,117 units of the MPV in March 2020!
The starting price for the Kia Carnival is Rs. 24.95 Lakhs and goes up to Rs.33.95 lakh for the top-end variant. The top-end limousine variant stands out from the other two models. The predefined luxury and convenience make the Limousine variant worth the price! The MPV is available in 7,8 and 9 seater options.
Kia offers only 1 powertrain on the Carnival as of now. The 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine has a maximum power output of 202 PS. An 8-speed automatic gearbox is coupled with this engine. Talking about the features, it gets electric sliding rear doors, power-folding ORVMs, LED projector headlamps, LED fog lamps, LED tail lamps, and a powered tailgate.
As stated above, the Kia Carnival has no distinct rival in the Indian market. Though Toyota Innova Crysta seems to give somewhat competition. On the other hand, the Mercedes Benz V Class also holds similar bodyline but is priced way beyond this range!
