Hyundai’s sister brand Kia is going all the way in with its all-new sub compact SUV the Kia Sonet which will rival the like of the Hyundai Venue. We at Gomechanic recently published a report of the production-ready model of the Kia Sonet being tested on Indian roads which were also rumoured to be the production-ready model of the car.

Surprisingly, just months away before its launch new images of its interior have surfaced the internet and by the looks of it, we can surely get a fair glimpse of its dual-tone interior accompanied with black and red upholstery giving the Sonet a the much required sporty look.
Other noticeable features include silver trims on the 3-spoke flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel and the AC vents which helps the Sonet gain some character. We can also notice some additional features which include front-centre armrest, rare seat pockets and adjustable front headrest adding a point to the ride quality.
Moving forward we can also expect the Sonet to boast a massive 10.25-inches touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the Sonet will also feature a first-in-its-class UVO connected car technology.

Much to our surprise, the all-new Kia Sonet will underpin the same engine specs of its rival the Hyundai Venue which turns out to be 1.2L Kappa and 1.0L turbo petrol unit capable of generating 81hp and 121hp respectively.
Rumour also has it that Kia might also carry its 1.5L unit from the Kia Seltos pushing the power output to 115bhp with 250Nm of peak torque.
Although, the company might as well detune the oil burner for Sonet. All the engine units will come mated to either a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT
With its launch, the all-new Kia Sonet will rival the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the upcoming MG ZS petrol. The Kia Sonet might come with a price tag ranging between Rs 7-11 lakhs.
