Mahindra XUV300 Electric SUV Expected To Debut At Auto Expo!

Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV has been in the making since long. If you remember, Mahindra promised the launch of the all-electric XUV300 in mid-2020 when they launched the IC engine counterpart of the same car. We have already seen the electric variant of the KUV 100 in the auto expo 2018. What does Mahindra have on cards for its launch? We still don’t have a clue!

Realising the great need for EVs in the coming future, the Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV has been worked upon well. Talking about the competition, the Tata Nexon EV has already arrived and Mahindra plans to be a tough competition really soon. The Tata Nexon and XUV300 are rivals in their already existing avatars and the automakers have decided to take this competition forward by transforming both of them into an EV.

As far as we know until now, Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV will inherit the same design and form factors from its IC engine counterpart. We can expect minor tweaks in the front grille, bumper and the MID on the inside which will display the battery percentage, charge time and the range.

Oops! Mahindra XUV300 Recalled Over Faulty Suspension

When Mahindra announced the XUV300 electric SUV, they quoted that the SUV will have a 380-volt battery pack which will offer a range of 200 km on a single charge. An option to extend this range to 350km or even 450km would be available. We can expect Mahindra to launch this SUV in 2 variants which will differ in terms of the ranges they will offer.

Mahindra currently sources their powerhouses from LG Chem as part of a collaboration. LG Chem will also supply high energy density Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) based Li-ion cells to Mahindra for XUV300 electric SUV and other future EVs. With such exponential capabilities we can expect the eKUV to be prices under Rs. 9 lakhs.
