Mahindra has been an active participant in the road to the electric future. Among the electric lineup unveiled at the Expo, Mahindra also showcased the XUV300 EV. The model was a concept but the carmaker has confirmed that the EV will be launched in 2021.
Once launched, the Mahindra XUV300 EV will lock horns with the Tata Nexon EV. It will be the first production model based on the Made-In-India MESMA platform. MESMA will ensure better stability due to floor battery package and its multiple motor options allow catering to different vehicle segment demands.
Driving Range: Mahindra XUV300 EV or Tata Nexon EV
The Mahindra XUV300 EV will come with two battery options: a standard 40kWh and a long-range 60kWh battery pack. The standard variant will have a range of 370kms. The long-range variant will have an extended range of 450kms.
The better range will give the Mahindra XUV300 EV an upper hand over the Tata Nexon EV which it will be directly rival against in the Indian market. The Tata Nexon EV has a claimed range of around 312kms. The battery cells for the XUV300 EV have been developed by LG Chem in India itself.
What’s Different From The IC Engine Counterpart?
The electrified version of the Mahindra XUV300 looks quite futuristic and is distinguishable from the engine powered counterpart. The new trapezoidal LED headlamps, closed-off grille, blue wheel caps, blue highlights on the roofline and the different side profile is what makes the EV stand apart.
