Maruti Suzuki launched the new generation of Celerio in late October 2021, claiming to be the most fuel-efficient petrol car. It has a claimed fuel efficiency of 26.68 kmpl with the VXi AMT trim. The bookings for the petrol version were open in early November itself for ₹11,000. Now bookings for Celerio CNG are unofficially available.

Bookings for the CNG variant are open at the dealership level. This will increase the fuel efficiency more than the petrol version, and the power figures would be 66hp & 89Nm torque. Feature-wise it will be identical to the petrol version with features such as the 7-inch Smartplay infotainment system.

Engine & Platform
Celerio’s K-Series Engine Celerio CNG will be powered by the 1.0-litre Dualjet petrol engine equipped with a company fitted CNG kit. The claimed power figures are the same as stated above, slightly less than the petrol version.

It will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission based on the 5th generation Heartect platform. This platform ensures a lighter & stronger structure with very few vibrations inside the cabin. Despite that, there are no reports of any crash tests of the new generation Celerio.

The Top-End Celerio The 7-inch Smartplay infotainment system offers android & apple connectivity, and Suzuki connect. This car connectivity feature enables the user to track various elements such as real-time tracking, geo-fencing, intrusion & tow alerts.

Celerio CNG will be the most fuel-efficient car in the segment and have revamped looks with the new generation. Further updates include keyless entry & idle start-stop technology. It also gets a new AMT lever and vertically placed aircon vents with a semi-digital instrument cluster.

Price & Rivals
Maruti Suzuki Celerio VS Rivals Compared! The price of the petrol version ranges from ₹4.99-6.49 lakhs, but the pricing for the CNG Celerio has not been revealed yet. It will compete with cars such as the CNG Tiago, which is also in development.

The bookings are unofficially open, and you can reach out to your nearest Maruti Suzuki showroom to book one for you. The third wave might impact the deliveries, but there are no updates about that.
